“That’s A Fact” by Ramya J

Over the past several years Flint, Michigan has gained infamous notoriety for its 2014 water system crisis. I'm happy to say that finally we can report some good news coming out of the Mitten State. Thirteen year-old Ramya J is cuter than a cupcake and has a voice that might make you believe she could be channeling the spirit of the late, great Whitney Houston. And that's a fact.

Actually, "That's A Fact" (RamyaJMusic) is the title of Ramya J's new single. It's a fast moving R&B/Hip Hop joint and on it she teams up with young rapper Tootie Raww. Together on the tightly produced track the two teens spit fire on the mic like nobody's business and six ways from Sunday. Their wordplay and interaction display a kind of chemistry that's hard to fake. While Ramya J's lyrical approach is that of a motor mouth who can rattle out words at a hundred miles a minute on the verses, Tootie Raww pitches his lines in a way more laid back manner. You know, a Venus versus Mars kind of thing. On the choruses the pair punches it up a notch or so with some nice harmonies woven into the tune's melody line.

From the picture on the cover of "That's A Fact" it's apparent that Ramya J is quite the little fashion diva. Multicolored long straight hair, silky fingerless white opera gloves that almost reach her shoulders, a combination pants suit sheer gown and two toned eye make-up that highlights her super long lashes and makes the kind of statement that's guaranteed to make you remember her. But then again, that's really the point, isn't it? I certainly think so.

Ramya and Tootie will be appearing together in the music video "That's A Fact" and it will be an insight to see if the chemistry they shared in the studio carries over on to the screen. "Imagine That" will be soon to follow and no information was provided as to whether the young couple will be reunited on any of the other cuts on the future compilation or whether this was just a case, shall we say, of two ships passing in the night. Either way, the divine Ms. J truly captured my attention and I'd unquestionably like to hear more of what she can do.
